Newcastle United have reportedly now joined the race to sign Jarrod Bowen in the summer.
The Lowdown: Great season
Bowen is enjoying a great individual season at West Ham United, scoring no fewer than 14 goals and making a further 11 assists in 41 games in total over all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

Earlier in the campaign, Gabby Agbonlahor hailed him as a ‘special’ player, while Jurgen Klopp even went as far as to claim that he is ‘unbelievable’ just last month.
The Latest: Newcastle lurking
As per transfer insider Graeme Bailey, the St. James’ Park faithful have now joined the race to sign Bowen, but he reportedly wants a new deal at the Hammers:
“Newcastle join race for West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen.
“Bowen is happy at the London Stadium but wants a new deal.
“Liverpool already huge confirmed fans, Newcastle have now firmly joined the chase.”
The Verdict: Unrealistic
It seems unrealistic that the North East club would be able to poach Bowen from a team that are currently in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, and are no doubt hoping to qualify for European football once more.
Also, if Liverpool are in the mix, they would find it very difficult to persuade him to move to Tyneside over Anfield, given their current league positions and the trophies that Bowen would be likely to be able to compete for straight away with the Reds.
Nonetheless, the Englishman would have to firmly believe in the long-term project on Tyneside in order to choose them this summer.
